![]() Haven't tried their amps, but they come highly recommended. Resale does in fact suck, so don't plan on it as an investment. is on a par or better than any other mfgr I own (Gibby, Gretsch, Epi, Fender, etc.) Too lazy to go look up what p/u's I ordered, but this will do everthing that my MIM Strat does and then some, thanks to coil splitting.įit, finish, quality, etc. They do most of their sales online, and if you don't like it when you get it, send it back, no questions asked. If it happened, it happened, they just wanted me to be happy and satisfied. Their "sales" people could not have been more helpful with questions, suggestions, etc. I live near their Santa Ana store so went in there after looking at the website. I bought the same Carvin (CT-6) 8-9 years ago, albeit with different fret markers. It lasted for 30 years, but it was only once LOL.īack on topic, Joe has good taste. I know Joe is sober but man he looked out there.Īccording to Joe, he only got drunk once. When they come out with a hollow bodied jazz box, that will be my last guitar. Their resale value is nothing like a Gibson, and the perception is the brand is not popular. If I had to trade mine out, I'd switch them out for some kind of boutique Burstbucker-type. It'll be interesting to see how that develops. I believe its power transformer went out because I measure 5 ohms between hot and return of the IEC when I flip the mains 'on' while unplugged. Kiesel is experimenting with new pickups. I have the original version of the Carvin V3 Head. People who don't like them generally don't care for their stock pickups. Made in the USA, better quality than Gibson at half the price. I guess it just depends what you're looking for. Some call them lifeless and without character. They have a high output, but also, great definition from top to bottom with a brightness you don't find in any Gibson humbucker. The pickups are stock S22 split coil humbuckers. It is also the prettiest guitar I own, and one of the prettiest I've ever seen. It is the most playable guitar I own, and for that reason, the most played. I've owned an SH550, semi-hollow guitar for a little over five years. I haven't heard a Carvin amp in person, but they've gotten some pretty strong endorsements.
